There are trends when it comes to decorating the inside and outside of your home, and there are also trends when it comes to pools and spas.

Rich in magnesium they are known for having a great many health benefits.

Narellan Pools

Brad from Narellan Pools explains that pools and spas continue to come in many different varieties and sizes to match the varying property types and customer budgets.

Sleek contemporary styles remain on trend, with straight lines still in vogue, along with angular pools and natural stones used to seamlessly blend the pool with outdoor entertaining areas.

“Becoming increasingly popular these days are mineral pools. Because they are rich in magnesium they are known for having a great many health benefits,” Brad said. “The water quality is much higher and the magnesium is better for healthy skin, and helps to alleviate aches and pains. It’s also good for the joints and aids muscle relaxation.

“It is also a more natural way to keep a pool healthy.”

Narellan Pools uses a mineral system used by Theralux and Brad explains that though the initial cost of a mineral pool is a little higher, it is offset by comparable maintenance costs.

“It is slightly more expensive to set up a mineral pool, however, the ongoing maintenance cost is still similar to a saltwater pool,” he said.

Another innovation gaining popularity is a heat pump for pools.

“We are finding that a lot of people are moving to a heat pump to warm their pools,” Brad explained. “It is like a reverse cycle air conditioner, but for water.

“Solar panels on roofs are not the most attractive solution compared with a smaller heat pump.

“And the new pumps are a more reliable method of controlling the water temperature because they are reliant upon the ambient air temperature and not direct sunlight. That means the pump still works well on cloudy or rainy days.”

Also starting to make waves are swimming spas.

A swim spa is usually between four and six metres in length and, as well as being a spa, it is capable of propelling a force of water against someone who ‘swims’ at one end of the pool. Similar to resistance training, you swim without actually moving the length of the pool.

“With a swimming spa people are getting the best of both worlds. And, it means you can do your exercise in a small amount of water.”
