A Kellyville mum has kicked off the giving season early to collect donations of new or used toys for less fortunate children this Christmas.

Alexandra Ng started the project after completing a Self Expression and Leadership Program course through Landmark.

Soon after,  Mrs Ng began the donation project dubbed ‘Give a New Life’ with hopes of helping children in need during the festive season.

“I've always looked around my house and wondered how it got so over-run with toys and how they would be put to better use by being given away to kids who really have nothing and would appreciate them more,” Mrs Ng said.

More than 100 people have donated items to the drive, including a wide range of clothes, toys and book.

The items will be distributed to Wesley Mission, Give and Take and Jane Aborde.

Mrs Ng praised the donation of a huge roll of Christmas wrapping from Carlingford Court Shopping Centre.

“My project is called ‘Give a New Life’ because I look at my kids and all the toys they have and there’s so much life still left in them,” Mrs Ng said.

“It’s been an amazing reception so far with 130 people expressing interest in donating.

“I wish more people would do stuff like this.”

All donated presents will need to submitted by November before they are sent off.
