Emergency crews rushed to Vineyard after a shed caught fire on a property last week.

A Riverstone Fire and Rescue spokesperson said firefighters responded to reports of a shed fire in Vineyard on September 9.

“Upon arrival firefighters located large stacks of saw dust had ignited and was emitting large volumes of smoke,” the spokesperson said.

“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters from Riverstone Fire and Rescue NSW, Oakville Rural Fire Brigade and Wilberforce Rural Fire Brigade with the assistance of machinery, extinguished the piles.”

With no hydrants close by, firefighters had to think quickly to protect the property.

“A bulk water tanker from Hawkesbury Headquarters Rural Fire Brigade assisted in delivering large quantities of water to the fire trucks onsite,” the spokesperson said.

“It was a great use of inter-agency resources to extinguish the blaze.”
