More than a quarter of Australian houses had solar panels on their roof at the end of 2016 and the growth is expected to continue, according to solar researcher the Australian PV Institute.
However choosing a supplier for your solar panels can be confusing, according to Paul Singh from AHE Group.
“It can be a jungle out there on the internet when it comes to pricing and the plethora of product choices and the varying quality of panels and inverters,” he said.
“Call a couple of solar companies and ask to speak to their customers that have been installed within the last two months. This is the best research you can do.”
Mr Singh said installation and the materials used is just as important as the panels and inverters.
“The cheapest price is just that.”
The AHE Group, an Australian family owned and operated business, has been operating for almost 20 years. In 2008 it added PV solar supply and install to its business, which quickly became the main focus.
“The satisfaction of saving thousands of dollars for customers on power bills became a passion,” Mr Singh said.
“Solar is an investment not a cost.
“And AHE always install PV Systems themselves and do not sub-contract that work out.”.
In the solar industry, AHE specialise in the design and supply of grid connect, hybrid, micro inverter and battery solar systems.
It recently partnered with Town Country & Community Solar, known as TCC Solar, to complement their business with a high quality solar advisory and customer service division. The TCC Solar staff brought with them more than 10 years of solar advisory and implementation knowledge.
The motto of this partnership is ‘A Customer-Centric Partnership’ and as such the solar advisory and customer service have been extended from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday to 7pm on most days.
AHE outlined some of the many benefits of solar:
- Reduce electricity bills by 50 per cent to 85 per cent.
- Take advantage of the purchase rebates available – over 30 per cent of system value.
- Take control of power bills.
- NSW has over 5.1 peak sun hours per day on average over a year
- Great for the environment – be part of the solution not the problem.
- Adds resale value to your property.
“Solar is the only investment today with tax free returns of more than 24 per cent p.a.,” Mr Singh said. “The solar payback period is between two-and-a-half to three-and-a-half years, and ROI can be more than 24 per cent just in the first year.”
