Parramatta Eels captain Tim Mannah will bring up his 200th NRL game against the Newcastle Knights on Friday night.

The 29-year-old has been a one-club man and will become just the 12th player to bring up the double century milestone for the club.

Mannah praised the fans for getting behind the team and said there was a “buzz” around the community.

“We are excited about our footy at the moment, we are excited about turning up to training, excited about game day,” he said.

“There is a really good buzz among us and it’s good to see that the city is getting a bit of a buzz as well. We can feel their excitement and that’s why we want them to turn up on Friday and put a big number in the crowd and really give us a buzz.”

The front rower was part of the last Eels side to make the finals in 2009 and was hoping to break the eight-year drought.

For fellow forward Suaia Matagi, he said it would be an honour to share the milestone with Mannah.

“Tim, to put one word to him, would be selfless,” Matagi said.

“He has been a standout and one player that I wanted to play alongside.

“I am really honoured to do that, but also get to start alongside him, it has been good.”

Eels halfback Mitchell Moses said the side was pumped to put in a big performance for their captain.

“He has done a lot, been through it all and been here since the start of his career and been through all the ups and downs, so it will be big for him,” Moses said.

Mannah will lead out the Eels on a seven-game winning streak against the Newcastle Knights at 6pm on Friday night at ANZ Stadium.
