Blacktown Council closes all sports grounds

Blacktown Council has officially closed its grounds to all sport this weekend.

The council closed its grounds yesterday after Blacktown copped 65 millimetres of rain in less than 48 hours.

Though the intensity dropped, more rainfall means any sport or training will not be allowed until at least 4pm on Tuesday, June 13.

The closure does not affect Blacktown International Sportspark, or the synthetic field at Blacktown Football Park.

A decision on reopening the grounds will be made by 12 noon on Tuesday, June 13. See the council’s Park Closures website for updates.
