A South Wentworthville man has been charged over an alleged armed robbery and carjacking in Riverstone.
Police responded to an urgent call for assistance in Regent Street after a man was seen chasing a woman down the street shortly after 7am on Thursday, May 11.
Officers confronted the man and used capsicum spray to subdue him.
The man, 21, was taken to Riverstone police station where he was charged with 11 offences as well as an outstanding warrant.
His offences included robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contravene apprehended violence order, common assault, drive unregistered vehicle and breach of bail.
Police will allege the armed robbery and car-jacking occurred in the Blacktown area on Sunday, April 23.
The man was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court on June 30.
